Andrew Gordon
Andrew Gordon is a native of the Boston area and a graduate of the New England Conservatory and the Juilliard School. He is an adjunct professor at Western CT State University in Danbury, where he coaches singers and where in 2015, he conducted performances of Copland’s The Tender Land. He has also worked as a coach for Central City Opera, Monadnock Music, and Opera Omaha, where he helped to prepare the world premiere of Hugo Weisgall’s The Gardens of Adonis. He can be heard as conductor on the Centaur label’s recently released recording of Seymour Barab's children's opera Little Red Riding Hood. Since 2000 he has been the Organist at Diamond Hill United Methodist Church in Cos Cob. His anthem for trebles, “An Evening Prayer," is published by Oxford University Press.
